I review one book each month, usually alternating between general and Hawaii-specific books. All of my book reviews include the cover art, a brief summary of the book, my honest and personal opinions, and sometimes a web link to further information. I try to keep the tone of my reviews respectful, even if I disagree with the content. However, I may choose not to review books that I strongly dislike.
I don’t receive money for book reviews. I purchase or borrow all the books I review, and I am happy to accept book recommendations. If I receive an advanced reading copy (ARC) or free copy from the author or publisher, I always note it in my review. I will not sell a review copy; I will keep it, donate it to a public library, or offer it as a give-away on Better Hawaii.
